NELLA, now living in New York City – has painted several bouquets in watercolors on canvas. They all seem to move in brilliant violets, reds, sunny yellows, warm chocolates, and neon green. Not surprising since Nella LOVES to DANCE, her FIRST LOVE from the days of teaching Latin moves – Cha Cha, Tango, Meringue – in a studio on South Broad Street to the jazz and disco parties she threw with her husband Marvin. Marv – aka “Harpo” rigged up their basement with turntables and stage quality surround sound speakers. Friends would pour in and they’d dance until dawn.

Nella’s daughter Susan created the line NELLA New York/Nella’s Garden collection – from her mom’s profile and paintings – with the help of her brilliant friend, designer Aristotle Circa – to fund her care at a senior home in the city. Nella participates in current events, word play, dancing, and group activities – including art – to keep her brain as sharp as possible.
